Large portions of meat but small sides. Coleslaw and baked beans very good. Potato salad a bit bland. Corn bread was awful, fluffy, bland...unlike any I have had before. Homey comfortable environment. I had the pork ribs my husband the beef. Both very tender. The brown sugar sauce and the spicy sauce both very good. Thick sauces unlike anything associated with "Texas Style" like I've had in Portland before. I'm from the Ozarks where BBQ blows anything from Portland out of the water so back home I would give this 4 stars. However, I've tried a lot of BBQ since moving here and have never had luck until we tried this place tonight.
The place is beautiful and clean, has big parking lot so it was convenient. I wasn't sure what to order so I peeked what others were having and chose Sampler plate with 6 meats and some sides & cornbread. They were all delicious with lightly smoked flavored succulent meats. The sauce came with both smokey and spicy sauce to mix with, and sides were vegetarian but very good especially the Baked Beans. Cornbread was moist and large enough to share, so was the meat portions. One sampler 24.95 fed both me and my husband, my kid too so it was a good deal, pleasant experience. I would recommend their Ginger Beer to wash it down.
The waitress gave good service too so overall it was good job they did on nice Sunday trip after coming back from the Mt. Hood.
